Material 1.4742 is a heat-resistant chromium steel with aluminum additives with a ferritic structure, used for working at high temperatures for elements without heavy loads. 1.4742 material has heat resistance up to 1050℃ in air and has very good resistance to environments containing sulfur compounds and reducing gases.
It is characterized by relatively good machinability and excellent resistance to low-temperature carbonization gases.
The relatively low price resulting from the limited content or complete absence of nickel in the composition means that the material with a ferritic structure is resistant to cold working and welding additional heat treatment operations in the range of 750-800 °C with cooling requires the air. Steel becomes brittle in the temperature range of 450-530 °C.
Grade 1.4742 is used as steel for burners, parts of furnaces and reactors, pipe caps in furnaces, heat-resistant boiler elements, heater brackets, apparatus and machine parts in the plastics industry and plastic dryers.
