The round bar made from material 1.4462 is a highly corrosion-resistant stainless steel, outperforming 304 and 316 grades in rust resistance. It is harder and offers double the resistance compared to conventional austenitic stainless steels. Known as “duplex stainless steel,” 1.4462 is widely used for boat and yacht shafts due to its excellent corrosion resistance and outstanding mechanical strength.

Thanks to its duplex structure, DIN EN 1.4462 stainless steel provides exceptional resistance to corrosion in acidic environments (especially phosphoric and organic acids) and in media containing chlorides.
