This alloy is known for its minimal thermal expansion, as well as excellent ductility and toughness. Invar® 36 maintains good strength at low temperatures, and its thermal expansion can be further reduced through cold working. Below its Curie temperature, the material displays ferromagnetic behavior, while above this temperature it becomes non-magnetic.
