r6m5 is a high-alloy iron-tungsten-molybdenum high-speed steel. The material designation r6m5 means:

• R - high speed steel;
• 6 - about 6% tungsten;
• M5 - about 5% molybdenum.

The grade also contains approximately 80% iron, approximately 4% chromium, approximately 2% vanadium and approximately 1% carbon. This type of steel has very high strength, high temperature hardness, high temperature strength and increased toughness. Furthermore, it is extremely break- and wear-resistant and offers excellent sandability. The steel is not suitable for welding.
