Its composition includes a maximum of 0.08% carbon, around 17–19% chromium, 9–11% nickel, and about 1% titanium. According to GOST-5632, the alloy mainly consists of iron (about 65%), with chromium and nickel as the principal alloying elements. Chromium provides corrosion resistance, while nickel contributes to mechanical strength and high-temperature stability. The addition of titanium enhances resistance to intergranular corrosion and deformation, though it slightly reduces machinability. This alloy is ideal for high-temperature use and can be welded using all common methods. It can also be solution annealed at temperatures between +1020 and +1120°C. The steel exhibits good chemical resistance to organic acids and other aggressive environments, such as saltwater. It is weakly magnetic, becoming non-magnetic after heat treatment.
