The copper square bar, designated as Cu-ETP, is made from high-purity, electrolytically refined copper with a minimum copper content of 99.9% and a maximum oxygen content of 0.04%. This material is not suitable for welding due to the risk of hydrogen embrittlement, but it offers excellent cold and hot formability and is ideal for soft soldering. However, it is not recommended for brazing in a reducing atmosphere or for machining.Thanks to its outstanding electrical and thermal conductivity, this copper square bar is commonly used in heating and cooling systems (such as radiators and heat exchangers), electrical engineering (including motors, chokes, and coils), construction (as decorative elements for interiors and facades), shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, and for electric lines and wire windings.Key properties include excellent formability, good processing characteristics, superior solderability, and good corrosion resistance. However, the bar is not suitable for sweating, cannot be brazed in a reducing atmosphere, and has limited machinability. The surface is smooth but may show minor marks from handling or storage.
