Vanadium is a very soft transition metal from the vanadium group. It is tough, forgeable, and non-magnetic. It can be alloyed well with other elements, which significantly increases its hardness and high mechanical strength. Since vanadium is classified as a base metal, it can react with many non-metals. Due to passivation, vanadium metal is generally resistant to acids and bases at room temperature. Only hydrofluoric acid and strongly oxidizing acids attack the metal. In addition, vanadium is able to absorb hydrogen. Hydrogen absorption makes vanadium brittle and allows it to be processed easily into powder.

If you are looking for vanadium, you’re in the right place. We offer an affordable vanadium price in the Evek GmbH online shop. We’re on your side!

Vanadium is mainly used as an important alloying metal in steels. It is used for construction and tool steels to significantly increase their strength and toughness, and thereby their wear resistance. Titanium alloys containing vanadium and aluminum have high stability and excellent heat resistance and are used in aircraft construction. Vanadium compounds are used in vanadium redox batteries.

Vanadium is used in:

  • Steel industry (construction and tool steels);
  • Aircraft construction (titanium alloys containing vanadium and aluminum);
  • Vanadium redox batteries.

Vanadium metal has the following properties:

  • good toughness and forgeability;
  • non-magnetic;
  • easy to alloy;
  • reacts with many non-metals;
  • resistant to non-oxidizing acids and bases.
