Neodymium is a rare earth metal from the lanthanide group. It is relatively stable in air, but the metal can become covered with an oxide film that flakes off in air. Neodymium reacts with water to form hydrogen and neodymium hydroxide. At 150 °C, neodymium burns to form neodymium(III) oxide.
Neodymium is offered through Evek GmbH, the reliable supplier. We have a cheap price on rare earths.
Neodymium is one of the most commonly used metals from the lanthanide group. Neodymium is used as an alloying element for aluminium-magnesium alloys, which are also used in the aerospace industry. Other important areas of application for neodymium are:
- alloy of quality steels and titanium;
- Manufacture of magnets (neodymium-iron-boron and neodymium-yttrium-cobalt);
- as neodymium(III) oxide for solar control glass;
- as a catalyst in the production of polybutadiene rubber.
Neodymium is characterized by the following features:
- relatively persistent in air;
- reactive with water;
- easily soluble in dilute sulfuric acid.
Buy neodymium in the Evek GmbH online shop. We sell the highest quality metal products worldwide.
