Erbium is a very rare element that is assigned to the rare earth metals and belongs to the lanthanoids. The metal can be forged well, but is very brittle. It turns gray in air and then shows very good resistance. Erbium reacts with mineral acids to form hydrogen. At higher temperatures it burns to form sesquioxide Er₂O₃.
In the Evek GmbH online shop you can buy pure erbium. We offer rare metals with high purity and supply them worldwide.
The main area of application for erbium is solid-state lasers. In addition to neodymium or holmium, the metal is used for doping laser crystals. Erbium laser is mainly used in medicine. As a beta emitter, the element is also widely used in nuclear medicine for the treatment of joint diseases (finger joints). Erbium is widely used in the manufacture of catalysts and in the polishing of glass.
The main areas of application of Erbium Metal are:
- Solid state laser;
- as beta emitters in nuclear medicine (treatment of joint diseases);
- optical amplifiers;
- Manufacture of catalysts;
- Polishing glass.
Erbium has the following properties:
- good forgeability;
- high brittleness;
- good resistance to air;
- flammable (powder).
Erbium price is always up-to-date and cheap at Evek GmbH. As a supplier, we ensure safe and stable deliveries worldwide.
