- Niobium finds a wide range of applications in different industrial areas: as an alloying addition for steel and non-ferrous alloys; for the production of jewelry; for coating surfaces on implants; in bimetal coins; as a catalyst in hydrochloric acid production.
- Niobium is characterized by the following properties: low hardness and high ductility; very high melting temperature; good machining properties; resistance to most acids; insensitivity to hot alkalis; good biocompatibility.
Please Note: Sheet metal cuts are intended for industrial use and may not be suitable for decorative or visible applications. Some surface scratches may be present due to the manufacturing process. These sheets are cut using guillotine shears and may not always come with protective film. If surface quality is important for your project, please contact us directly so we can assist you with your specific needs.
Length tolerance: +/-2mm
If you require a different steel grade or dimension, feel free to get in touch. Our sales team will be happy to provide a tailored offer based on our stock or delivery program.

Niobium is a rare heavy metal from the transition metals group and shares properties with vanadium. It is soft, easy to process (including forging), and stands out for its high melting point and ductility at room temperature. Niobium readily absorbs gases and resists corrosion in air and most acids under normal conditions, though it is not stable in hot alkalis. Niobium powder can be pyrophoric, and the metal offers excellent biocompatibility.
At Evek GmbH, niobium is available at a competitive price. We value close customer relationships and welcome your inquiries.
Niobium’s main use is as an alloying element. It enhances the strength and toughness of stainless steel, is combined with zirconium for nuclear fuel rod coatings, and is alloyed with titanium for permanent magnets. Thanks to its biocompatibility, niobium is also widely used in jewelry and medical implants.
Typical applications for niobium include:
- Alloying steel and non-ferrous metals
- Jewelry manufacturing
- Coating surfaces of implants
- Bimetallic coins
- Catalyst in hydrochloric acid production
Key characteristics of niobium:
- Low hardness with high ductility
- Very high melting point
- Good workability
- Resistance to most acids
- Stable in hot alkalis
