AZ31B is a magnesium wrought alloy with good strength and ductility at room temperature combined with corrosion resistance and weldability. AZ31B is used in a variety of applications. AZ31B can be formed at high temperatures to produce a variety of complex components for the automotive industry.

AZ31 is also available as tooling sheet, which is specifically manufactured to achieve a flat sheet surface. The manufacturing process of AZ31-TP also results in sheets with exceptional dimensional stability during processing. This allows the production of very complex parts, as well as components that benefit from dimensional stability, such as fixtures, optical benches, vibration testing equipment, and test gauges.

Magnesium sheets have good corrosion resistance and can be excellently processed by fine cutting, machining, and rolling. The material is sparingly soluble in alkalis and insensitive to alcohols (except methanol), gasoline, petroleum, and mineral oil.
