AZ31B is a wrought magnesium alloy with good strength and ductility at room temperature combined with corrosion resistance and weldability. AZ31B is used in a wide range of applications. AZ31B can be formed at high temperatures to produce a variety of complex components for the automotive industry.

AZ31 is also available as tool plate, which is specially manufactured to produce a flat plate surface. The manufacturing process of AZ31-TP also results in sheets with exceptional dimensional stability during machining. This enables the production of very complex parts, but also components that benefit from dimensional stability, such as fixtures, optical benches, vibration testers and test gauges.
Magnesium sheet has good corrosion resistance and can be excellently processed by fine blanking, machining and rolling. The material is slightly soluble in alkalis and insensitive to alcohols (except methanol), gasoline, petroleum and mineral oil.
