Inconel® 625 (2.4856) is a low-carbon nickel-based alloy with chromium, molybdenum, and niobium. This alloy offers excellent resistance to various forms of corrosion, including pitting, erosion, crevice, and intergranular corrosion. It is also highly resistant to stress corrosion cracking caused by chlorine, and stands up well to both mineral acids (nitric, hydrochloric, phosphoric, sulfuric) and organic acids, as well as alkalis.
