Its composition includes a maximum of 0.08% carbon, 17-19% chromium, 9-11% nickel, and about 1% titanium. According to GOST-5632, the alloy consists mainly of iron (around 65%), with chromium and nickel providing corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, and excellent heat resistance. The addition of titanium improves resistance to intergranular corrosion and deformation, although it may slightly reduce machinability.This material is suitable for use at high temperatures and is easily welded using all common methods. It can be solution annealed at temperatures between +1020 and +1120 °C. 08X18H10T offers good chemical resistance to organic acids and can be used in aggressive environments, including saltwater. The alloy is weakly magnetic, but becomes non-magnetic after heat treatment.Typical applications include welding devices for harsh conditions, heat exchangers, muffles, furnace components, and spark plug electrodes.
