09g2s is an unalloyed low-carbon structural steel. The material designation 09G2S means:

• 09 - 0.09% carbon content;
• G2 - max. 2% manganese content;
• S - max. 1.0% silicon content.

The grade consists of approximately 96-97% iron as the main component and is characterized by an extremely low content of accompanying elements such as phosphorus, sulfur, nickel, and vanadium.

09g2s GOST is characterized by excellent weldability and excellent processing properties. The material can be machined very well. It is practically insensitive to distortion and cracking during heat treatment. The material exhibits an optimal combination of strength, toughness, and ductility. It also has very good wear and temperature resistance.
