09g2s is a non-alloyed low-carbon structural steel. The material designation 09G2S means:

• 09 - 0.09% carbon content;
• G2 - max. 2% manganese content;
• S - max. 1.0% silicon content.

The grade consists of about 96-97% iron as the main component and is characterized by an extremely low content of accompanying elements such as phosphorus, sulfur, nickel, and vanadium.

09g2s GOST is characterized by excellent weldability and superb processing properties. The material is excellently machinable. During heat treatment, it is practically insensitive to distortion and crack formation. The material exhibits an optimal combination of strength, toughness, and ductility. It also has very good wear and temperature resistance.
