Brass round material is a long product with a round cross-section. Cast or kneading brass is used to manufacture this semi-finished product. Cast brass is ideal for casting. Kneading brass is well suited for forming (forging, rolling and bending). The brass rod can be soft, semi-hard and hard. The diameter varies from 4 to 200 mm.
Brass itself is a copper alloy made up of at least 50% copper and up to 40% zinc. In addition, the alloy can contain other metals such as lead, silicon, iron, nickel, manganese or aluminum in smaller proportions. In this case one speaks of a special brass.
We offer brass round rods with the material number 2.0401 (CuZn39Pb3). This material consists of about 57-59% copper, about 36-40% zinc and about 2.5-3.5% lead. It is very easy to understand, can be machined on automatic machines and, by the way, is the main alloy for machining. Because of the lead content, the grade is less recommended for welding. It has a low resistance to corrosion and is therefore very sensitive to water, various salt solutions and organic liquids.

- poor weldability. Resistance welding is recommended as the best welding process.
