Stainless steel welding wire 1.4430 Ø0.8–1mm 316LSi MIG MAG TIG

Stainless steel welding wire 316LSi (material no. 1.4430) is an austenitic solid wire for MAG/MIG welding of CrNiMo steels. Thanks to the increased silicon content, it offers a stable arc, clean weld appearance, and low spatter formation. The wire provides very high corrosion resistance, especially against pitting and intergranular corrosion, including in chloride-containing environments.

Technical key figures: tensile strength approx. 550–700 N/mm², yield strength ≥ 320 N/mm², elongation ≥ 35 %. Available from 0.1 to 10 kg.

Typical areas of use:

  • Chemical, pharmaceutical, and food industries;
  • Equipment, vessel, and piping construction;
  • Shipbuilding, offshore, water and wastewater technology;
  • Architecture and stainless steel structures.

Stainless steel welding wire 316LSi is an austenitic, highly alloyed solid wire for shield gas welding of corrosion-resistant CrNiMo steels. With its increased silicon content, it offers particularly good wetting, a stable arc, and a clean, uniform weld appearance. The material is ideal for demanding welding joints in chemical and marine environments.

The 316LSi welding wire is preferably used for MAG and MIG welding processes and convinces with excellent corrosion resistance, especially against pitting and intergranular corrosion.

Technical data:

  • Weight: 0.1 kg to 10 kg;
  • Material number (W.-Nr.): 1.4430 (comparable to 1.4404 / 316L);
  • EN ISO 14343-A: G 19 12 3 LSi;
  • AWS A5.9: ER316LSi.

Mechanical properties:

  • Tensile strength (Rm): approx. 550–700 N/mm²;
  • Yield strength (Rp0.2): ≥ 320 N/mm²;
  • Elongation (A5): ≥ 35 %;
  • Corrosion resistance: very high, especially in chloride-containing media.

Advantages:

  • Very good corrosion resistance (also in chloride-containing environments);
  • Stable, calm arc;
  • Excellent weld appearance due to increased silicon content;
  • Low spatter formation;
  • Good weldability in all positions;
  • High resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion;
  • Ideal for demanding industrial applications.

Areas of application:

  • Chemical industry;
  • Food and beverage industry;
  • Pharmaceutical industry;
  • Equipment and vessel construction;
  • Piping construction;
  • Shipbuilding and offshore applications;
  • Water and wastewater technology;
  • Architecture and stainless steel structures.
