Spring steel wire made of stainless steel 1.4310

This spring wire is made from austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel 1.4310. The material is used for springs and other elastically loaded parts. Compared to unalloyed spring steel, it offers higher corrosion resistance.

Processing and applications

The strength of 1.4310 is significantly influenced by cold forming. Therefore, when winding and bending, the wire diameter, the available strength, and the spring-back must be taken into account. The material number alone does not determine a specific spring force.

The stainless spring wire is a semi-finished product for tension, compression, and cantilever springs as well as for springy wire-bending parts. For your own designs, the wire thickness and shape must match the intended load. From this, no general application temperature or service life can be derived.

Execution notes

Important: The wire is delivered on a spool, but in certain cases without a spool in a ring (coil). If a spool is mandatory for you, please inquire before ordering.

Note! The spring steel wire with a diameter of 0.40 mm & 0.55 mm has a diameter tolerance of +/-0.008 mm; with 0.65 mm, 0.70 mm, 0.75 mm and 0.95 mm - +/-0.01 mm; with 1.30 mm - +/-0.015 mm

Diameter tolerances of 0.25mm and 0.35mm are -0/+0.01mm

For applications with unalloyed spring steel, you can also find spring steel wire EN 10270-1 DH. The choice of material depends on load, processing, and environmental conditions.
