Description:

Bismuth oxide is a highly insoluble, thermally stable source of bismuth that is suitable for glass, optical and ceramic applications. Bismuth oxide occurs naturally as minerals bismite and sphaerobismoite, but can also be produced as a by-product of the smelting of copper and lead ores. Bismuth oxide is the most important compound of bismuth in industry.

Areas of application:

  • Astringent and antiseptic.
  • Flux in the production of enamels, ceramics, special glasses.

Brand: Evek
Country and Region of Production: Germany
Manufacturer number: Not applicable
Type: powder
Material: Tungsten
Operation area: Metal element 74
Standard classifications:
Name, symbol, ordinal number: Tungsten, Oxide, WO3, 74
Assay: 99.9%
Further information:
Melting point: 1473 ° C
Density: 7.16 g / cm3
Solubility in water: insoluble
Solubility: Hardly soluble in HF
Boiling point: 1700 ° C

Description:

Tungsten oxide is a highly insoluble, thermally stable tungsten source that is suitable for glass, optics and ceramic applications. Oxide compounds are not electrically conductive. However, certain perovskite-structured oxides are electronically conductive and find use in the cathode of solid oxide fuel cells and oxygen generation systems. They are compounds that contain at least one oxygen anion and one metal cation.

Areas of application:

  • Tungsten trioxide is used for many purposes in everyday life. It is widely used in industry to make tungstates for X-ray phosphors, for refractory fabrics, and for gas sensors. Due to its rich yellow color, WO3 is also used as a pigment in ceramics and paints.
  • In recent years, tungsten trioxide has been used in the manufacture of electrochromic windows or smart windows. These windows are electrically switchable glass that changes the light transmission properties when voltage is applied. This allows the user to tint their windows and change the amount of heat or light, that falls through the window.
