Hafnium is a corrosion-resistant heavy metal that can crystallize into two different modifications depending on temperature. Pure hafnium is soft and malleable, so it can be easily rolled and forged. In air, the metal forms a thin oxide layer that protects it from further oxidation. Hafnium shows good resistance to most acids. At room temperature, it is only soluble in aqua regia and hydrofluoric acid. Pulverized hafnium has pyrophoric properties and is not toxic.

The hafnium price at Evek GmbH’s online shop attracts every customer. Our service and your satisfaction are a solid basis for long-term cooperation.

The main application of hafnium is in nuclear technology. Here, it is used as a control and regulation rod in nuclear reactors. The element is also used for reactors in nuclear submarines. Adding only 2% hafnium to alloys with tungsten, molybdenum, niobium, and tantalum increases their strength and heat resistance.

Hafnium is used:

  • in nuclear technology (nuclear reactors);
  • in the military sector (reactors in nuclear submarines);
  • in flash lamps;
  • as an alloying additive to niobium, tantalum, molybdenum, and tungsten.

Hafnium is characterized by:

  • good malleability;
  • easy to roll and forge;
  • resistant in air;
  • good resistance to most acids;
  • pyrophoric properties in finely divided form;
  • not toxic.

You can buy hafnium through Evek GmbH. We offer a flexible discount system so you can enjoy our service and thus a new shopping experience.
