1.3912 is an austenitic alloy composed of about 61% iron and 36% nickel, with the balance including silicon, sulfur, phosphorus, manganese, cobalt, chromium, and carbon. This alloy is known for its low thermal expansion, excellent ductility and toughness, and good strength at low temperatures. Cold forming can further reduce its thermal expansion. Below the Curie temperature, it is ferromagnetic, while above it, it becomes non-magnetic.
Evek GmbH is your trusted source for 1.3912, offering high-quality nickel alloys at competitive prices.
Invar® 36 (1.3912) is widely used in applications such as the production, storage, and transport of liquefied gases. It is also found in measuring and control instruments, such as thermostats for temperatures below 200°C, as well as:
- OLED screen manufacturing;
- Aircraft construction (CFRP parts);
- Satellite construction (frames, brackets, housings for electronic units);
- Optical and laser systems (supports for electromagnetic lenses);
- Cryogenic components;
- Automotive industry components.
Main properties of Invar® 36:
- Very low thermal expansion;
- High ductility and toughness;
- Good low-temperature strength;
- Suitable for cold forming;
- Ferromagnetic below Curie temperature;
- Non-magnetic above Curie temperature.
