Neodymium 99.5% Neodymium pure metal nugget Nd element 60 – 1g–5kg

Neodymium is a rare-earth metal (lanthanoids). It is relatively stable in air, but reacts with water to form hydrogen and neodymium hydroxide.

  • Production time - none. Already in stock.
  • Shipping preparation - 2-3 business days.

Neodymium is used as an alloying element for aluminum-magnesium alloys (aerospace) as well as for quality steels and titanium. Other applications: production of magnets (neodymium-iron-boron), as neodymium(III) oxide for sun-protection glass, and as a catalyst in the production of polybutadiene rubber.

Neodymium is a rare-earth metal from the group of lanthanoids. It is relatively stable in air, but the metal can be coated with an oxide film that flakes off in air. With water, neodymium reacts, forming hydrogen and neodymium hydroxide. At 150 °C, neodymium burns to neodymium(III) oxide.

Neodymium is offered via Evek GmbH, the reliable supplier. We have a favorable price for rare earths.

Neodymium is one of the most commonly used metals from the group of lanthanoids. Neodymium is used as an alloying element for aluminum-magnesium alloys, which find further applications in the aerospace industry. Other major applications of neodymium are:

  • Alloying quality steels and titanium;
  • Manufacturing magnets (neodymium-iron-boron and neodymium-yttrium-cobalt);
  • As neodymium(III) oxide for sun-protection glass;
  • As a catalyst in the production of polybutadiene rubber.

Neodymium is characterized by the following features:

  • relatively stable in air;
  • reactive with water;
  • well soluble in dilute sulfuric acid.
