For the width and length of a sheet metal cutout, the tolerance is +/-2mm

Attention: sharp edges! The sheets are cut using a drop shear, and the edges are not deburred. Scratches on the surface cannot be ruled out. Product photos are theoretical; the delivered cutouts may differ from them.

Sheet metal 1.3912 is produced from an austenitic iron-nickel alloy. The iron content is about 61%. The nickel content is approx. 36%. The alloy also contains manganese, cobalt, carbon, sulfur, phosphorus, chromium, and silicon as accompanying components. Invar 36 plate has a very low coefficient of thermal expansion and is well ductile and tough. Cold forming reduces the material’s rate of thermal expansion. The material shows good strength at cryogenic temperatures. Ferromagnetic: 1.3912 plate below the Curie temperature. Above the Curie temperature, the grade has non-magnetic properties.

Through Evek GmbH, you can buy 1.3912. In our online shop, we offer high-quality nickel alloys. We work for your success.

Sheet metal 1.3912 is mainly used for the manufacture and storage of liquefied gases. The material also finds further use in the production of precision pendulum clocks, chronometers, and other measuring instruments. Invar 36 plate is also used:

  • for manufacturing components for OLED displays;
  • in aviation (CFRP components);
  • in space technology (frames for electronic control units);
  • in optical and laser systems (laser housings);
  • components for low-temperature applications;
  • astronomical and seismograph instruments.

Sheet metal 1.3912 is characterized by the following properties:

  • very low coefficient of thermal expansion;
  • good ductility and toughness;
  • can be cold-formed;
  • good strength at cryogenic temperatures;
  • ferromagnetic properties below the Curie temperature;
  • non-magnetic properties above the Curie temperature.
