09g2s is an unalloyed low carbon structural steel. The material designation 09g2s means:

• 09 - 0.09% carbon content;
• G2 - max. 2% manganese content;
• S - max. 1.0% silicon content.

The quality consists of approx. 96-97% iron as the main component and is characterized by an extremely low proportion of accompanying elements such as phosphorus, sulfur, nickel and vanadium.

09g2s GOST impresses with its excellent weldability and excellent processing properties. The material can be machined perfectly. When subjected to heat treatment, it is almost completely immune to deformation and cracking. The material has an optimal combination of strength, toughness and ductility. It also shows very good wear and temperature resistance.
