hn70u is a heat-resistant chromium-nickel-aluminum steel. The material contains a maximum of 1% iron. The material designation hn70u refers to:

• H - 26-29% chromium;
• N70 - 65-71% nickel;
• U - 2.8-3.5% aluminum.

The grade exhibits excellent high-temperature strength and high strength. It is conditionally weldable. Before welding, the material should be preheated to 100-120 °C. After welding, additional heat treatment is required. The alloy is not resistant in sulfur-containing environments.
